AQUA, La casa de los peces
(2023)
The concept of "AQUA" was born from the absence of a space where exotic fish can continue living. Most people who get tired of keeping a domestic fish opt for two options: euthanize it or release it into a habitat that is not its own.
Governments around the world have been trying to deal with the problem of getting rid of invasive fish in rivers, lakes and ponds for years. In addition to the very suffering caused to the fish by being moved from their natural habitat.
AQUA seeks to take in all those little fish that can no longer belong to a family. In this place they are provided with the care and space they need, adapting to a habitat where several species can coexist. The space is designed so that visitors can interact with them and become aware of this problem.

The space is composed by 4 aquariums (3 semicircular and one cylindrical) distributed in the form of a labyrinth so that the spectator feels immersed in it from the first moment. There will also be a reception area that will be in charge of receiving and classifying new fish.
