Marea lamp
(2021)
Marea Lamp is a 3D printed table lamp inspired by the gentle movement of ocean waves. Conceived as a simple object, its form subtly transforms the space, bringing balance, warmth, and harmony to any room.
The goal of this project was to design a lampshade specifically for table use, exploring the expressive possibilities of 3D printing. From the outset, I sought a clean, minimal geometry capable of generating a dynamic optical effect through light and shadow.
The structure is composed of four hexagonal star-shaped elements and a central circular ring. These components are twisted along the vertical axis, creating a flowing, wave-like rhythm that evokes the continuous motion of the sea. When illuminated, the lamp produces soft, changing patterns that enhance the atmosphere of the surrounding space.
Marea Lamp captures a moment of movement frozen in time, a wave held in midair. Its smooth, flowing shape seems shaped by the sea’s rhythm, as if water left its mark on the material. The 3D-printed shade gently filters light, casting shifting shadows and creating a calm atmosphere. Simple in design but vibrant in presence, it soothes and shapes any space, carrying the quiet memory of the tide indoors.
